Citations from Alabama law relating to women, 1974-1980 [state publication].

This survey, compiled by Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (Birmingham, Ala.), was intended to provide information relating to any meaningful distinctions based on sex within current state law. Included are citations from the Constitution and Code which meaningfully distinguish between the use of "man," "woman," and their derivatives. Landmark cases in this area are also cited. The Commission was established to study and make recommendations in areas of public and private employment policies and practices; labor laws dealing with hours, wages, and working conditions; legal rights and responsibilities; policies relating to education, counseling, and job training; citizen volunteers; and home and community. The revised 1980 edition updates the original 1974 compilation. Samford University Dean Margaret D. Sizemore was Commission Chairman, and commission officers are also listed. The series incorporates the Commission's function of being a vehicle for the determination of effective policy and legislation relating to women.
